Stella Ardila

Colombian coffee, renowned worldwide for its excellence, finds one of its main producers in the Huila region. Located in the southwest of the country, this area stands out for its ideal climate and fertile lands, providing the perfect conditions for coffee cultivation.

Stella Ardila, a coffee producer in the town of Guadalupe, is an example of dedication and commitment to quality and sustainability in coffee farming. Stella and her family have transformed their farm into a model for the region. A mother of five, and supported by her brother Fernando, Stella joined the local cooperative and adopted Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), which include prohibiting child labor, logging, and hunting. She has also worked diligently to organize her farm and create the necessary infrastructure to sell dried coffee cleanly and efficiently.

Their production process includes selective harvesting of the coffee beans, followed by 12 hours of oxidation and 24 hours of fermentation in an open tank. Finally, they are moved to the drying area, where they rest for 20 days under a canopy.
