This is one of the lots that make up our direct relationship with producers in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, and is a clear example of the diversity of rich flavors that coffee can develop by combining different varieties and processes.
The farm of Luis Alberto Balladarez, a legend of specialty coffee, is located in the Dipilto and Jalapa mountain range in the Mozonte region, where the profiles develop more juicily and with greater depth in the mouth.
The process applied to this batch is identical to that of the Cup of Excellence winner, won by Luis Alberto himself in 2020. We must keep the details under wraps to preserve its unique character and respect the producer's work. As far as we can tell, the cherries were hand-picked at optimal ripeness. The whole cherries are then spread on African beds using a technique that produces this extraordinary flavor profile.
Luis Alberto is a legend of specialty coffee. On his farm, the profiles develop more succulently and with greater depth on the palate. The process applied to this lot is identical to that of the Cup of Excellence winner, won by Luis Alberto himself in 2020.
We roast to order, which means we don't keep roasted coffee in stock at the shop.
As a matter of routine, we have three roasting days per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (excluding public holidays). If you place your order before 8:00 a.m. on one of those days, your coffee will be roasted that same day; otherwise, it will be roasted the next day.
Orders are sent to their destination the day after they are toasted (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday respectively).
Please note that if your order does not contain coffee, it will be shipped the next business day after it is placed and will arrive at its destination within the following 48 hours (excluding holidays).
Shipping costs are calculated during the checkout process.
