More information
This batch arriving from Ethiopia is a source of great excitement for us. Its producer, Nesru Aba Nura, is the wife of Mensur, a coffee farmer with whom we have collaborated directly and without intermediaries in the Oromia region for several years. Last year marked an important milestone, as Nesru exported her coffee for the first time. This achievement represents a valuable opportunity for growth and progress both for her as a producer and for her entire family.
The uniqueness of this coffee is truly special. It comes from a traditional local Ethiopian variety, identified as strain 74110, which was developed in the 1970s at the Jimma Agricultural Research Center (JARC). This variety was selected from a mother tree in the village of Bishari.
After the coffee cherries are manually harvested, only those that have reached optimal ripeness are selected. The coffee beans then undergo anaerobic fermentation and are then sun-dried on African beds for 21 days, until they reach the desired moisture level.
