Recipe

Description
With this recipe, you'll learn one of the most popular methods for making delicious filter coffee. To do this, you'll need a Hario V60, V60 filters, and a glass carafe.

GRINDING
Medium/Coarse

Amount
12 g of coffee for 200 g of water

Infusion time
2 minutes

Water temperature
94ºC

Advice
To get the most out of your freshly roasted coffee, we recommend having a good grinder, a scale, a timer, and filtered water on hand.

Steps

Step 1

To arms, soldier!

Step 2

First, fold the side of the paper filter so it fits perfectly inside your V60. Pour hot water over the filter, soaking it thoroughly to remove any papery flavors and warm the ceramic and carafe.

Step 3

Drain the water from the carafe. Weigh and grind 12g of coffee and pour it evenly into the V60. It's time to tare your scale with the carafe and V60 on top.

Step 4

Start the timer and pour the first 50g of 94°C water slowly and evenly, ensuring that all the coffee is moistened. This first step is known as "blooming."

Step 5

At 0:30, pour the next 50g of water in a slow, circular motion, and pour the last 100g again when your timer reaches 01:00.

Step 6

The total time for this recipe should take around 2:00. If it takes less time, try grinding your coffee more finely, and if it takes more time, try grinding it more coarsely.

Step 7

Enjoy your coffee! And don't stop playing until you find your favorite recipe 🙂
