In October 2025, Forbes Spain contacted us to include us in a special report on coffee in the country. It was an opportunity to reflect on how specialty coffee has evolved in Spain and how, since our beginnings in 2012, we have worked to bring this world to increasingly curious and demanding consumers.
When we started, the coffee scene in Spain was very different: deeply ingrained habits, consumers unaccustomed to exploring beyond the basics, and a landscape full of intermediaries. Over these years, our philosophy has been clear: build direct relationships with coffee growers worldwide, commit to transparency and traceability at every step of the process, and offer a product that truly tells the story of the coffee that reaches your cup.

During the interview with Forbes, they asked us a couple of questions that perfectly capture the current state of coffee culture in Spain.
What is the future of coffee in Spain?
"We are quite optimistic when we look ahead and see the possibilities that our specialty coffee approach can bring to the hospitality industry and our customers. After years of building relationships with coffee growers around the world, we are ready to meet the expectations of a more informed and demanding consumer in this growing segment of the food industry. Knowing firsthand how scarce the coffee scene was in Spain when we opened in 2012—and seeing how much consumer mentality has evolved since then—gives us great peace of mind. We are proud to know that we have done our homework well from day one. In an industry full of intermediaries, transparency and true traceability are key—and that's where we excel."

What is most exciting about what is happening in coffee culture in Spain?
"It may sound cliché, but we have been preaching in the desert for much of these 13 years. Convincing a population of coffee consumers to change deeply ingrained habits and routines has not been easy. But now, we have curious and experienced consumers, ready to explore the depth we have built into our unique, niche product. There are no intermediaries between Right Side and the coffee growers—we can talk for hours about every step on the path to excellence. And now, in Spain, the consumer is finally ready to listen."
Participating in this report was a good excuse to review everything we have learned over these years. If you want to see the complete answers and how we presented it in Forbes Spain, you can read it here.
